Motor Vehicle Offices’ Schedule for Thanksgiving Day Holiday
  All Department of Motor Vehicle offices will be closed on Thursday, November 27 in observance of the Thanksgiving Day holiday. All DMV full-service branch offices and the satellite offices located in Willimantic, Winsted and Stamford will be open for extended hours on Tuesday, November 25, from 8 a.m. to 7 p.m.

Listen to Teen Driving Radio Ads
  The DMV produced two radio ads, to inform listeners of the new teen driving laws. The ads promote the need for the laws to save teen lives and for more parental involvement.

New Teen Driving Video Contest
  Calling all Connecticut High School Students- this is your chance to shine in front of a statewide audience, promote driving safety, and have a little fun! The Connecticut Department of Motor Vehicles (DMV) - with the support of the Allstate Foundation - has designed a video contest for high school students, and wants all aspiring producers, actors and directors to participate.

DMV Announces New Teen Driving Initiatives
  Department of Motor Vehicles Commissioner Robert M. Ward today announced two new programs to promote safe and responsible teen driving – a driving simulator to train students on safe-driving practices and analyze their driving behaviors and a video contest for high school students to create public service announcements on safe teen driving.

State’s Largest Driving School Charged with Fraudulent Practices
  The Department of Motor Vehicles today alleged that Academy of Driving, the largest commercial school in the state providing driver education, has engaged in a variety of fraudulent practices during the last several years. Also allegedly involved in the fraud is the school’s owner and his wife.

Digital TV Transition
  On February 17, 2009 all full-power broadcast television stations in the United States will stop broadcasting on analog airwaves and begin broadcasting only in digital. The DMV is assisting the Federal Communications Commission in reaching the public with this information.
